DESCRIPTION:Evening Classes\n\n\nCourse Content\n\nUnit GIC1: Management of Health and Safety\n\nWhy we should manage workplace health and safety\nHow health and safety management systems work and what they look like\nManaging risk – understanding people and processes\nHealth and safety monitoring and measuring\n\nUnit GIC2: Risk Assessment\n\nPhysical and psychological health\nMusculoskeletal health\nChemical and biological agents\nGeneral workplace issues\nWork equipment\nFire\nElectricity\n\nWhat You Will Learn\n\nAfter completing the qualification, learners will be able to:\n\nJustify the need for health and safety improvements\nAdvise on the main duties for health and safety in the workplace\nHelp their organization manage contractors\nWork within a health and safety management system\nPositively influence health and safety culture and behavior\nCarry out a general workplace risk assessment using a 5-step approach\nRecognize workplace changes and their impacts, and how to minimize them\nDevelop basic safe systems of work, including emergency arrangements, and know when to use a permit-to-work system\nTake part in incident investigations\nHelp their employer check the effectiveness of the health and safety management system through monitoring, auditing and review\n\nExamination and Assessment Process\n\nUnit GIC1:\n\nAssessment type, Open book examination(Scenario  Based)\n Assessment time (5 hours)\n Learners will have 24 hours to access, complete and submit their digital assessment starting from 11am (UK time) on the examination date. \n\nUnit GIC2\n\nPractical assessment (risk assessment of any workplace)\nAssessment time (4 hours)\nDue within 10 working days of the chosen GIC2 exam date.\n\n Both assessments are submitted online through the NEBOSH Exam Portal.\nLearners must pass both units to be awarded the qualification.\n Results will be declared after 60 working days of Exam. \n Certificate will be issued after 20 working days of result.\n\n\n\nGrading (based on GIC1 only)\n\nMarks/Grade\n\n75 or above——Distinction\n 65 – 74———–Credit\n 45 – 64———–Pass\n 0 – 44————Refer\n\nResit:\n\n\nThere is no limit on the number of resit exam within the 5-year period.\nA resit mark is not capped, but if it is lower than the original mark, the original mark is kept.\nTo resit GIC1 for a better grade, learners must inform NEBOSH in writing within 20 working days of the result of their second successful unit.\nNEBOSH issues the qualification parchment within 20 working days of the final successful unit.\n\n\n
