Managing Safely (Version 5.0) is a course offered by IOSH. It is for managers and supervisors in any sector, and any organization. It’s designed to get managers up to speed on the practical actions they need to take to handle health and safety in their teams. Managing safely won’t turn delegates into safety experts – but it will give them the knowledge and tools to tackle the health and safety issues they’re responsible for. Importantly, it brings home just why health and safety is such an essential part of their job.
The NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety is a globally recognized qualification offered by an established independent UK examination board with over 30 years’ experience in providing health and safety awards in the UK and across the world including the Middle East, the West Indies and Southeast Asia.
This qualification is for managers, supervisors and employees based outside the UK who require a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety principles and practices. Durations
The duration for IOSH Managing Safely course is 3 days and timings are 09:00am to 06:00pm.
Course duration includes 10 days classes (covering all two units IG1 and IG2) + 1 day for home based open book exam paper and class timings are 09:00am to 06:00pm.
IOG course duration is 5 days of classes + 1 day for exam and class timings are 09:00am to 06:00pm.
IFC course duration includes 10 days classes (covering all three units IG1, IFC1, FC2) + 1/2 day for exam and class timings are 09:00am to 06:00pm.
According to IOSH, this course can be delivered over 3, 4 or 5 days and a minimum of 24 hours of face-to-face contact is required which is completed in 3 days of 8 taught hours each.
According to NEBOSH, 65 taught hours are required for NEBOSH IGC course so this duration is completed in 10 days classes of 8 taught hours each. Moreover, candidates are required to go for extra 40 hours for their private study and 27 hours for assessments (24 hours for IG1 online home based assessment and 3 hours for IG2 risk assessment).

Course Assessments & Certificates
NEBOSH has recently changed his exam structure and IG1/IGC1 exam now are being held as home based online examination (for details please contact us). Exam of IOSH MS is conducted both in house and online.
As SBS is an approved training provider of IOSH & NEBOSH, certificates of NEBOSH & IOSH courses are issued by these bodies. SBS provides its certificates for its own/non accredited qualifications.
This course is assessed by an exam of 1 hour on the last day of training plus a project report is to be completed as home assignment and submitted within 1 week after the exam.
For successfully completing the qualification and be able to get certificate, candidate must achieve:

At least 36 out of 60 on the multi-format assessment paper.

At least 23 out of 38 on the project.
-
Overall 60 marks required to get Managing Safely certificate.
For the candidates not clearing their exam or report, re sit will be arranged.
NEBOSH IGC qualification has two units IG1 and IG2. IG1 is assessed now as home based online examination and student is required to solve the exam paper within 24 hours which contains one long question (20 marks) and ten short questions (8 marks each). IG2 is a practical risk assessment report. It consists of one written safety inspection which can be done on candidate’s own workplace.
All two units, IG1 and IG2 need to be passed within a five year period for an award to be made. Certificate is awarded by NEBOSH itself.
Pass Marks:
Unit IG1: 45 marks out of 100
Unit IG2: The minimum standard required for a Unit IG2 ‘Pass’
A ‘Pass’ must be achieved in both units to achieve the International General
Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
The qualification grade is based on the result from Unit IG1
Distinction: 75 marks or higher
Credit: 65 – 74 marks
Pass: 45 – 64 marks
If a candidate doesn’t pass a unit, he/she can take it again within 5 year of the first successful unit (conditions apply).
Candidates are assessed by a 2 hour written assessment only.
Students are assessed with a written examination for each of the two taught units, IGC1 and IFC1. There is also a practical assessment for unit FC2, designed to help you apply your learning at work and add value for your employer.
Units IGC1 and IFC1 are taught units each assessed by a two-hour written examination. Each written examination consists of ten ‘short-answer’ questions and one ‘long-answer’ question. Examination scripts are marked by external examiners appointed by NEBOSH.
The aim of the fire safety practical application (Unit FC2) is to assess your ability to complete a fire safety risk assessment in your workplace.
The practical assessment must normally be completed within 10 working days of a written examination. It is internally assessed by the course provider and will be marked by an experienced and qualified safety professional.
Students will be awarded a unit certificate for each unit passed. Once a student has successfully completed all three units (NGC1, FC1 and FC2), the overall qualification parchment will be issued.
Result of NEBOSH qualifications is notified after 40 working days of exam sitting. After result notification, it takes further 40 working days to receive certificates.

SBS tuition fee, NEBOSH exams fee, NEBOSH registration fee, refreshment cost and certificates dispatch cost is included in NEBOSH course fee.
Maximum two installments are offered only for NEBOSH courses. Candidate needs to deposit 50% of total fee at the time of registration before the registration deadline and remaining 50% should be paid by committed date which must be before 20 days of final exam date.
